Default Defense of Marriage?

Uh -ohhhhhhh.

Looks like the anti-freedom religious people who were warning us that allowing gays to marry would be an affront to marriage were just making up stuff (again). Massachusetts, which five years ago legalized gay marriage, now has the lowest divorce rate in the US. So much for that theory.

In fact, the most religious states tend to have the highest rates.

Another correllation seems to be that the higher the education level, the lower the divorce rate and the more stable the families tend to be there...which equals...you guessed it- "Stronger Family Values"!

"Kentucky, Mississippi and Arkansas, for example, voted overwhelmingly for constitutional amendments to ban gay marriage. But they had three of the highest divorce rates in 2003, based on figures from the Census Bureau and the National Center for Health Statistics.

The lowest divorce rates are largely in the blue states: the Northeast and the upper Midwest. And the state with the lowest divorce rate was Massachusetts, home to John Kerry, the Kennedys and same-sex marriage."

Sorry, religious zealots! Turns out you're just a bunch of stupid, poor, fat, divorced liars. Time to say yer prayers!

Mass is liberal
Liberals "shack up"
Shack Ups don't get divorces they just move out.

Got a link for that "fact"?

Harry,
You gotta get married before you get divorced. And besides...it's a divorce "rate". It's done so you can compare groups of different sizes like North Dakota and California.
