It's official now...special election date set
Monday, August 31st Governor Patrick selected the date for the special election to replace Ted Kennedy as US Senator to be held. The winner will assume the office immediately and will face reelection in November as it is also an election year.
December 8th will be the primary day, January 19th will be the election day. The winner will assume office immediately and serve until January, 2013 with reelection on November 6th, 2012.
