I wonder why they forget to list health care as one of the factors that go into determining life expectancy? Because it is undeniable that improved health care will lead to increased life expectancy. The same applies to infant mortality.
Got to love all these half truths.
The other question is whether health reform will lead to improved health care or just the opposite paradoxical effect. Do you break the existing model and replace it when it needs tweaking i.e. finding some way to get coverage for the 15% who don't have it....?

Kwitcherbeliacheing! i first saw
Kwitcherbeliacheing! hanging in the Operating room corridor IN Holyoke Hospital. You had to pass under it if you were going to any of the OR rooms. It had
Kwitcherbeliacheing! on a sign with a man waving his finger like this
I use to see every day i thought it was something in German. Then one day i looked up and saw
Kwitcherbeliacheing! with the little man : and i figured out what it meant. And now i know it meant Kwit.. cher. beli. acheing.
After all, I believe we're morally obligated to try to cover the sick, not just the well. In other words we cannot in good conscience mitigate risk based on preexistent conditions. But we can address risk through these sorts of voluntary incentives, to a point.
I dunno, just shooting from the hip. Whattaya think?
Is it kosher to incentivize healthier behavior???? If the tax-payers are going to be paying for it -- ESPECIALLY!! <HELLO?? Anybody home??> -- you can bet your sweet bippy it is not only "kosher" to incentivize it, the people who pay for it are going to DEMAND it.
Just so you know, .... as a public service.
