Man jailed for making sound offensive to Court...
This guy did about as much time as Donte Stallworth, and all he did was yawn in court... always find it interesting that a judge can wield this much power, to just jail a guy, with no hearing, no due process... this is the stuff that we all need to be scared of.
Jailed for yawning: Will County Judge Daniel Rozak orders Richton Park man released -- chicagotribune.com
Quote:
The Will County judge who sentenced a Richton Park man to 6 months in jail for "making a loud yawning sound" set the man free Thursday without asking for an apology.
Judge Daniel Rozak, who according to court records has in the past typically accepted an apology before releasing people jailed on contempt charges, instead delivered a short lecture to Clifton Williams, 33, who stood before the bench in shackles.
"I just first of all want to make it clear: You were never in custody for yawning, you never were," Rozak said. "It was a sound ... that was offensive to the court."

Here is the original article... if he did disrupt the court, as is claimed, shouldn't have him removed been sufficient??
Judge sentences man to 6 months in jail for yawning -- chicagotribune.com
Quote:
Clifton Williams arrived at the Will County Courthouse in Joliet and sat in the fourth-floor courtroom where his cousin was pleading guilty to a felony drug charge.
As Circuit Judge Daniel Rozak handed down the cousin's sentence -- 2 years' probation -- Williams, 33, stretched and let out a very ill-timed yawn.
Williams' sentence? Six months in jail -- the maximum penalty for criminal contempt without a jury trial. The Richton Park man was locked up July 23 and will serve at least 21 days.
