Patrick’s favorability rating has dropped sharply over the past seven months, with just 36 percent of respondents holding a favorable opinion of him, and 52 percent viewing him unfavorably. As recently as December, 64 percent of voters viewed him favorably.
Could this be a precursor to the nation and President Obama? The parallels seem eerie.
I learned from Shakespeare's Henry IV and Henry V that it's better for a leader to start off with low expectations from the people. He's more certain to impress.
Obama began with such unreasonably high expectations--and he's an affirmative action baby whose resume is ridiculously spare--that he's almost set himself for a fall.

Obama's approval ratings are overall fine, unless you cherry pick, and so far he's done an awful lot with foreign policy, the stimulus bill, bailouts, and handling of the auto crisis. Health care is a tough, tough battle. Wager couldn't get it passed in the late 30s. Ted Kennedy couldn't get it passed in the 1970s. Hillary couldn't get it passed in the 1990s. And now Obama's trying. He has a better than 50-50 shot of getting something halfway decent passed.
Patrick on the other hand just doesn't seem to have what it takes to be governor. Right now, he reminds me a little of Weld. I think the big part of the problem in MA is that the Dems are so dominant in the legislature that the Governor has little power. He can't play them off one another. This state needs more Republicans in the legislature. I think it's a big problem the way things now stand.
When his casino plan got killed he seemed to have nothing left.
BTW, wait 'till more people become aware of the new average wait time at the registry of motor vehicles. I was at Watertown at 8:45 this morning(15 minutes before opening) I left two hours later. I felt like it was 1988 and I was once again back at Nashua Street. Say what you will about Weld, but he did something to the RMV that I miss.

Well, you could always get some religion and become a good Republican!

Seriously. When are people going to realize that sending billions of tax dollars a year to Connecticut is a bad idea?
He handled it foolishly. He was pusing for 3 casino's if I remember right. Why 3? This state is full of corrupt mofo's, and no beer on sunday type's, who don't want a casino cuz they think gambling is bad, or their pocket hasn't been lined yet. Had he focused on a single casino, I think he'd have had a higher chance of succeeding. It's foolish for us to let Mass cash go to Conneticutt.

Stupid comparison.
The way I see it the people of my state made a mistake and if the polls are any indication they're willing to acknowledge it and move on with another guy. As opposed to people like yourself who insisted on keeping the disastrous Bush in office until it was illegal for him to be President anymore.
