Well, when you have people like Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter, and Michael Steele rejecting the birthers, it's pretty clear that the birthers are nuts. While they will continue, the fact that even some of the Republican leadership loonies are calling them names, so it's pretty clear that the birthers have suffered a humiliating defeat and now belong in the ranks of those who believe in Area 51, that the moon landing was a fake, or that the CIA orchestrated 9/11. Of course, you can't convince birthers since they are caught in their own rattrap of lies and distortions supported by their seething hatred of Obama, but it's good to see that this nonsense has been relegated to bizarro land.

Last night on his TV show, Bill O'Reilly comprehensively debunked the Birthers. O'Reilly said to a letter-writer who declared himself not convinced that Obama is an American: "That is because you don't want to be convinced, Larry."

Chairman Steele believes that this is an unnecessary distraction and believes that the president is a U.S. citizen.

This is really a very simple problem to resolve.

Mr. Obama can make this issue *poof* disappear immediately.

All he does is to tell the Hawaii State Department to reveal his "original vital records" maintained on file.

OR

He can off his army of lawyers and let Occidental College release his college transcript.

All it takes is one lousy phone call.
