You can make a whole new cottage industry out of missing the point of dystopias and satires, idolizing a Socialist by claiming he's a theocon, for instance, in the case of Orwell. But really, you're so poor in your lexicon of eutopian and dystopian misunderstanding! Shouldn't you look at Erewhon, Yevgeney Zamyatin's We, Thomas Moore's Utopia, or others of the classics, to see how badly you can distort their meanings?
Really, this reliance on misunderstandings of 1984 and, I take it, Brave New World, is limiting your ability to utterly miss the point to only the most overused sources.
Spread your wings and fly, Foggy! With a little light reading, you'll be able to mangle a whole new world of greater minds than your own!
I await a learned treatise on the evils of Scrabble and pornography as described in that pro-ecclesiastic oevre The Handmaid's Tale.
It won't be long now... the Great Librarian will come to Earth and Shush those who talk instead of read...
Well, I guess you told me!!!!
Anywho, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Don't have time for all your new-fangled "books" on "utopias" and all that. Pssshaw. For the high school kids. I thought "oevre" was a French omelet . Guess you told me, though.
Anyhows, .... 'cause...... 'cause...... you just TOLD me you was. "Lights, colors, wow. Groovy baby."
