Default White House Reporters Grill Gibbs Over ‘Prepackaged’ Questions for Obama

Hey MSM, meet the new guy, same as all the old guys. Nothing like a "transparent" administration that hand picks people, and screen questions, for a town hall.

"The point is the control from here. We have never had that in the White House. And we have had some control but not this control. I mean I'm amazed, I'm amazed at you people who call for openness and transparency and have controlled..." veteran White House reporter Helen Thomas said Wednesday.

Hopefully the MSM will show some of this on their news tonight. It's time the mask is ripped off this con job that the media and obamans have played on the American people.

So let me see if I have this straight

Gibbs just walked them through how this event will unfold yet somehow its not 'transparent'?

Doesn't the WH have to fail to disclose that these questions were screened in advance for there to be opaqueness?

Keep in mind that a completely unscreened event may very well have Harry asking 'Oboooma' if his wife fondles his ears more now that he's CiC.

I can see why the old press is pissed, they're being cut out; but do y'all really expect Obama to let a bunch of drooling idiots monopolize his time in order to live up to your standard of openness and transparency?

Will Katie Couric show the Chip Reid piece on her show? Could Gibbs have been any more condescending to Thomas? I know she's a caricature but the woman's been around longer than dirt and deserves a bit more respect from a press secretary. Notice when she keeps pressing Gibbs about why he has no answer to her query,he replies "because I didn't know you were going to ask the question". Yet he claims no questions are prepared

It's so refreshing to see even 1-2 journalists actually start doing their jobs.

It is only a matter of time before they turn on him, we live in a world where people are built up to be torn down. It's becoming a disposable culture that eats it's young.....

It doesn't surprise me that you are fine with obama having "press conferences" in which he only picks people with pre-planned questions. Why not take questions from conservatives ? He has his happy little personality which endears him to those that can't think for themselves all while he's basically giving a speech because he knows what questions are coming. It's pathetic and the American people are, evidently, dumb enough to go along for the ride.

Can't disagree with that statement.

But I won't feel bad for him when they do turn on him ... and they will.

Theye pimped and whored each other for all they were worth.
He won because they refused to cover the election honestly and openly.
I hope it never happens again in our lifetime because the media was reckless.

I still think the right guy won ... i just don't like how he won ... but whatever.
The media has an obligation to vet the candidate and the election.
To ask all questions and leave no stone unturned ... they failed and it's sad.

whatever happens to him, well, don't pimps always turn on their whores when their used up, old and useless?

I always felt his election was a reflection on Bush, moreover Bush's relationship to the media. They deified him, and this is the patsy they championed.

Bush shut them out .. no question so they elected one of their own.
Now ... in a way he shuts them out also ... not sure they figured it out yet.

This was obvious leading up to the election ... they were selling off the front row media seats.

Sad day in America ... our media so much more for sale than ever.
Where would we be without the internet and the blogs ... screwed ... way screwed.

Well I don't know you have fox destroying the other news channels. But then again the other three networks are fighting over the same piece of the pie. When are one of those three other networks going to smarten up an hit the middle ground. As a consumer and right winger, I actually find myself watching Obermann or PAT, just to see the disparity.
