Default Sanford is now King David

Mark Sanford’s “King David” Strategy :: FITSNews

O Theocons!

The interesting bit here, is that King David was a notorious philanderer. Was it Uriah the Hittite he sent to the front lines because he wanted to bone his wife? Something like that.

But WTF? Is that what we're going to have to call our "moral majority" "family values?"

The levels of hypocrisy in Theocon-land are just astounding. It's like a Russian nesting doll of hypocrisy... just when you think there can't be another hypocrisy-within-a-hypocrisy...

Even worse than that. He had ALREADY boned the guy's wife and gotten her pregnant, so he called Uriah (I think his name was Uriah anyway) back from the battle, and tells him he can go see his wife (trying to get Uriah to sleep with his wife and make him think the baby is his). Uriah is true to his fellow soldiers and refuses on the grounds that it would be unfair to the rest of them that he gets some while they die in battle. So David writes a note to his general saying to put Uriah out front wherever the battle gets the worst, AND SENDS IT ALONG BACK TO THE FRONT WITH URIAH HIMSELF!!! Poor Uriah carried his own death sentence back to the battle with him, and, of course, got killed in the fight.

David was also a pretty ruthless military leader, repeatedly ordering everyone (including innocents) in a city killed. Saw a show about him a few weeks ago, pretty interesting stuff! Also pretty hilarious that Sanford went with that historical reference!
