Well of course race relations weren't automatically better. Anyone of any ideology or race who thought that electing a black president would erase the centuries of racial tensions, prejudices and strife is incredibly naive. I think that Obama has a very strong grasp on race relations however (his speech on race was nothing short of brilliant), and that there is certainly the potential for things to improve during his term. But no one man can wave his hand and make the history of this country magically better.

Oh well, Obama doesn't improve anything. So much for Obama hopeful changes!

What an assinine post. Obama's been in office barely a half a year, such things are NOT going to change that fast. What? Do you think more whites became nicer to blacks because Obama was elected? No! Things actually got worse what with random violence of whites on blacks that occurred right after the elections.

And of course, with all the bigots running around these days, I'd be frankly surprised if it it turned out that race relations had improved.
