We conservatives don't automatically assume the intentions of liberals are bad, just their ideas.
Liberals often don't hold back. They assume the worst about our _intentions_, something I once engaged in but have learned not to do. It's a risky business.
So why dialogue? As an example, the former chairman of the Democratic Party and aspirant for President, Dr. Howard Dean, said the following on a national TV news program: “Republicans, in contradistinction to our moral values, believe that kids ought to go to bed hungry at night.”

Conservatives are racist, sexist, and homophobic; they don't care about the poor and don't want kids to have health care. Conservatives think war is the way to solve problems and that it's better to punish criminals than to stop them before they start.
Liberals are sympathetic to terrorists, Marxist, Communist, anti-American. They have no respect for the troops, and are against American values. They are anti-Christian, want to kill babies, and they want to coddle criminals and use taxpayers to give money to lazy people.
I think it's a tossup, but these days conservatives are oversensitive.
Well ... staying within the framework of the thread Jet's fans must be liberals ... they hate with a vengeance bar none in the NFL.
That's funny.
By that logic we need affirmative action for Detroit fans. The best four teams--Patriots, Steelers, Giants, and Eagles (you could come up with others, I'm sure)--should be forced to give up a player or two.
Wouldn't Detroit love a Richard Seymour and Logan Mankins? Affirmative action for Detroit, baby.
