The U.S. Senate on Thursday passed a resolution apologizing to African-Americans for the wrongs of slavery.
The nonbinding resolution sponsored by Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, is similar to a House resolution adopted last year that acknowledged the wrongs of slavery but offered no reparations. The House will have to vote on the issue again because the composition of that chamber changed after last November's elections.
It happens for the first time in US history. In the last hundred years, we hadn't done it but we finally did it BECAUSE OF OBAMA. This was a past issue and we had gotten a long well with African-Americans for hundred years. Why do Democrats want to do this *****?
Obama apologized to the world because of our 'wrong' doing. We have 'democrat' senaters and congressmen want to to do the same thing for Obama.
When did we become an 'apologized' country? It's crazy.
Dear Michelle Obama
What else do you want your humble democrats to do for you besides apologizing?
Jesus Christ !

Re: Do we have to apologize to Michelle Obama's ancestor?
Can't post links yet, but the below quotes come from an AP article posted on cbsnews.com, msnbd.com, foxnews.com and others.
Quote:
Congress has issued apologies before — to Japanese-Americans for their internment during World War II and to native Hawaiians for the overthrow of the Hawaiian kingdom in 1893. In 2005, the Senate apologized for failing to pass anti-lynching laws.
Quote:
Cohen became the first white to represent the 60 percent black district in Memphis in more than three decades when he captured a 2006 primary in which a dozen black candidates split the vote. He has sought to reach out to his black constituents, and early in his term showed interest in joining the Congressional Black Caucus until learning that was against caucus rules.
Another of his first acts as a freshman congressman in early 2007 was to introduce the slavery apology resolution. His office said that the House resolution was brought to the floor only after learning that the Senate would be unable to join in a joint resolution.

How did Michelle Obama become a part of this rant anyway? She had nothing to do with the legislation.
Also, we've been a happily integrated society for 100 years? When exactly was the Civil Rights Act again?
Re: Do we have to apologize to Michelle Obama's ancestor?
CrazyDave, NEP. NEP, CrazyDave. Nice to see you have spread the truth of the fringe right to yet another member NEP... surprise surprise, he doesn't buy it either.
So far beyond fail there is not an adjective to sufficiently promote the misused verb. Epic fail hardly scratches the surface. Epic Fu(ktard Fail is only slightly closer. I'm not sure there's any response to some of your threads that do justice to their own injustice.
I'm sure your fringie buddies on the internet are all spewing the same senseless crap, but in real life...? 1880 called. They want their ideology back.
Re: Do we have to apologize to Michelle Obama's ancestor?
Would have meant a lot more if we apologized when those poor people were still alive.

They'll find out Randy can't run consistently anymore. He'll drive [Tom] Brady and [Bill] Belichick crazy. This is just my personal opinion from what I saw: He's losing his legs. He's becoming an old man fast.

Re: Do we have to apologize to Michelle Obama's ancestor?
Wow!
At least Crazy Dave hit the nail on the head with that picture.
I always find it fascinating when people find the Africans at fault for slavery.
Wait, here's another one. I found an article today in which the Senate approves a resolution apologizing for slavery. Hey, that bictch in the White House is black, I'll post using her in the title (pure genius).
Now, I'll look into the future. Years from now, the Congress of the United States will be apologizing to Muslims.
