Do you call a DR., sir?
Do you call the President, Mr?
Wondering how pissed the Brigadier General would be if he was addressed as Joe?
I guess because she's a woman we can just call her ma'am.

There is nothing disrespectable about calling a woman Ma'am. Never has been. Perhaps he should have said Senator, but he certainly did not need to be scolded like a little boy. Generals get called Sir all the time, and they don't demand the title.
She is such an a-hole and her distain for the military is never far from the surface, so it's not a surprise. The General should of called her a bit*h, you know he wanted too
Of course, he also could taken the "Late-night lefty" approach when dealing with female politicians and cracked a joke about fukcing her daughter right there in the chamber while Barney Frank holds his balls off the cold tile floor.
It's funny how selective you guys are when it comes to the treatment of female politicians. Depends on what letter is after the name I guess.
