Default FDA issues warning on 3 Zicam intranasal products

MarketWatch.com Story

Quote:
The Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday warned consumers to stop using and discard three zinc-containing Zicam intranasal products due to concerns that they may cause a loss of sense of smell.

The products are Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Gel, Zicam Cold Remedy Swabs and Zicam Cold Remedy Swabs, Kids Size.

The FDA received more than 130 reports of incidences where users experienced a loss of sense of smell following the use of these product. "FDA is concerned that the loss of sense of smell may be permanent," said the regulator. Zicam is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Matrixx Initiatives

Wow....here's something you and "liberals" agree upon. I'd sure like to see MUCH more regulation of these giants myself.
