Of course none of the Supreme Court purists who are bellowing right now had anything to say when Clarence Thomas showed up in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Funny how she was nominated by both Bush 1 and Clinton and was confirmed. Now the RT. is whining about her and trying their best to discredit her. Where was all the contempt when she was nominated by GB 1.

Who cares what the Bushes did. She's a racist and a sexist and should be eliminated (from consideration for the SC, not actually eliminated )

It is to laugh, it doesn't matter that a rep. POTUS nominated her before, now that a Dem. POTUS is now its different shes a racist, talk about hypocrisy. Keep graspping in the end it won't matter anyways.

She wasn't nominated for the Supreme Court before. She gets more attention now. What was said before is irrelevant. She is a racist. She is a sexist. Should a racist, sexist be eligible for the Supreme Court ? The answer is clearly no.

She got in a top school because of 'affirmative action'. She turned around and did it to 'minority'. Perhaps, she forgot that her 'lowest score' test wouldn't get her in school????

NEP ... I THINK IT'S VERY WRONG OF YOU TO SLAM AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.

Children don't choose to be born in poverty or low income situations. The care and nurturing of our children makes for an improved society.
We have an obligation to the society in which we live to care for ourselves and each other. That is neither liberal or conservative in my opinion ... it's human decency.

Sorry but justice A.Scolia said almost the exact same thing Sotomayor said and he wasn't branded a racist. You must live in misery now, your world must be coming apart at the seams. Tke it from someone almost old enough to be your father it will pass, everything will turn out ok.

I don't know what he said - if he said something which should have disqualified him back then, then that was an issue for then. This is an issue for now.

Sotomayor is of Puerto Rican descent, and was born in the Bronx

I guess it's hard to over come that Bronx cultural bias.

She only graduated 2nd in her class.

Must've been a black guy or an asian who finished 1st because of affirmative action....
