Thousands of Americans are receiving federal stimulus checks in the mail, this week. Only problem: many of them are deceased. The Social Security Administration, which sent out 52 million checks, said some of those checks mistakenly went to dead people because the agency had no record of their death. That amounts to between 8,000 and 10,000 checks for millions of dollars.

Wow, a .017% error rate. Wonder how Fox knows it's between 8 and 10,000 checks totaling "millions of dollars"? Don't they provide sources? Also, does Fox have any evidence that these checks are being cashed?

you make that sound small........170ppm is horrible an any situation........leave it to libbies to see failure as success
What! Human error!!! With a database in the hundreds of millions?
Why isn't it perfect? OBAMA obviously...
Yeah, I agree. I'm not an Obama fan, but this kind of thing happens. They probably died after the stimulus was passed and the mistake wasn't caught. It's the side effect of any bureaucracy.
And I also don't usually line up with people taking shots at Fox News (not because I think they're fantastic, I just think they do the same thing as every other major news outlet), but this was a STUPID call by someone at that channel.
Well a lot of them voted for Obama and will be counted by ACORN so why no give them their check...

"How does (Miami-Ohio offensive lineman Brandon) Brooks not get invited to the combine? How did Vollmer not get invited to the combine? I don't know. We can't really worry about that. We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."

Of course it's a problem that needs to be addressed, but I don't think it's that big a deal. All large businesses typically assign a couple percent of losses to various things, including mismanagement, theft, unexpected systemic breakdowns, etc. I don't think .017% is a bad number at all for such a large undertaking, but I certainly think they have to strive to do even better.
