The U.S. now has about the highest combined corporate tax rate, second only to Japan among industrialized countries. That rate is so high that U.S. firms have an enormous disadvantage versus competitors.

So the question is, why does Obama advocate a policy that so flies in the face of everything that economists have learned? How could Obama possibly say, as he did last month, that he wants “to see our companies remain the most competitive in the world. But the way to make sure that happens is not to reward our companies for moving jobs off our shores or transferring profits to overseas tax havens?” Further, how could Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner call a practice that top scholarship has shown increases wages and employment in the U.S. “indefensible?”

This forum recognizes news stories from reputable news outlets, not columns. Opinion columns are just that: Opinion columns. Anyone can find an opinion column that soothes their agenda.

When you catch your breath, crazy person, please answer a basic question: For you to say "Obama is destroying (the) U.S. economy" does that mean you believe the Boy King administration was not?

More and more people are starting to wake up and see what the BO administration is doing. Centralizing and growing power, as well as systematically destroying our capitalist economic system.

Obama's supporters wanted to see changes but they don't want to know how these changes will effect everybody's life and the future of this country.

In the reality, they don't want to accept the horrible truth because it will make them lesser men and a fool out of themselves.

Opinion is opinion, Bloomberg is not a fringe site like media matters or moveon however.

BAsed on the actions of this administration the auhors fear is not wholly unfounded.
