Left-leaning parties faring poorly in EU elections - USATODAY.com

Left-leaning parties faring poorly in EU elections

Exit polls suggested France's governing conservative party scored a resounding victory with 28.3% of the vote, followed by the opposition Socialist Party with 17.5%.

It looks like United States and Europe are going in opposite directions again.

It's the normal ebb and flow with is why this talk about the Republicans being dead here for decades is silly. These elections are one more reminder, though, why Foreign markets are a better place for money than the U.S. markets right now.

I still think we are a slight to the right country at heart. A bit more to the right of that economically and slightly to the left socially. But we shy away from Presidential contenders that would represent many of us. It's always the left vs right ... yeah ... that drives the donations, I get it. A bit selfish on my part and I've been willing to give Obama a chance. A 3rd party or a more moderate President with more (a lot more) blue dog democrats and moderate republicans in Congress would be best for the country. IMO of course ... as always.

The "Right/Left" in one country is not necessarily the same as the "Right/Left" someplace else.

France's far right agenda will begin with renaming the country from "France" to simply "Freedom"

Yup............ They've peeked under the curtain, and don't like what they see. Gorden Brown will be lucky if he's not burned at the stake soon. He's spent Briton into the poorhouse.
