Default Obama job approval is HISTORICALLY LOW

Rasmussen Reports: The Most Comprehensive Public Opinion Data Anywhere

Quote:

Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 34% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-four percent (34%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of 0. That’s the highest level of strong disapproval and the lowest overall rating yet recorded.

The President’s ratings have slipped since General Motors filed for bankruptcy to initiate a new government bailout and takeover. Just 26% of Americans believe the GM bailout was a good idea and nearly as many support a boycott of GM products. It remains to be seen whether the dip in the President’s numbers is a temporary reaction to recent news or something more substantive.

Congress is spending money like a drunken sailor. making bills in secret behind closed doors. Obama has slim margin here to make errors with Congress. When he gains more leverage he will clamp down on their spending ... I hope and I think he will. all cannot be blamed on Obama. He has made mistakes IMO but overall I give him a "B" so far. If he has some of the successes of Clinton and Reagan he'll be fine.

"It's the bailouts stupid"

The bailouts have truly pissed people off like I've never seen. No matter who you talk to, or what political persuasion they may be, they hate the bailouts. At least the vast majority do. Obama better be careful. If the economy doesn't straighten out a little, the deficit continues to rise, and he ends up raising taxes, the public will turn on him. Dick Morris said over a month ago that Obama would be at 30% next year. Morris is wrong far more than he's right, but you're beginning to at least see where it's possible. Unlikely, but possible.

Your post here could also go into the Pelosi thread ... Obama still needs to politically cap Pelosi.

interesting

but hey, why not just take the word of someone who could give a flying flunk about honesty when we've got a picture of what we wished were true?

Game, set and match!

Thank you.

All you have to do to understand why Rassmussen is such an outlier is to look at the content of the ads and testimonies on its website. A veritable who's who of the neo-Con movement.

Funny, not too long ago they were running a poll that was directly from the perspective of the liberal point of view

Doesn't mean that Rasmussen supports Socialism at all. They could be trying to use the poll to claim that Americans' moral values are being ruined by Obama.

Look up Scott Rasmussen - - he received $95k in compensation from the RNC in 2004 and $45k from the W. Bush campaign that same year. Look at his website and the ads all around it - - a veritable who's who of the Neo Conservative movement.

Look at sdaniels' link with all the other pollsters (including FoxNews with its 60-30% approval-disapproval measurement for Obama).

It's more than a little obvious.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, swims like a duck- it's a duck.

You wanted a left wing oriented poll, you got one
