It will be interesting to see what US Supreme Court is going to say about validating past gay marriages in CA when CA SC upholds gay marriage ban now. It's going to be a very interesting topic.

No it is not. One is an outright ban, the other is a limitation.

If they believe that he will ban ALL guns then they are fools. Even the most anti-gun President isn't going to risk having all anti-gun legislation overturned by the Supreme Court with a full ban...there may be crackdowns on the kinds of guns allowed but there will never be a full ban.

Its an odd twist, in reality.

A lot of those who voted in the election were duped by the language of the proposition. I myslef had to read it more than a few times to make sure I was voting the way I wanted. Its also odd that a court that upheld the state's recognition of this not long ago and forced the prop are also upholding the vote by californians.

so....

Its also funny to me NOW Cali isn't leading the country in liberal marriage views...

IOWA is.

I bet 5 years ago, none of us would've said that.

They will overturn any 9th district overturning of the law since it's not a federal problem...otherwise there isn't much they will do to overturn the state supreme court's decision since it upholds both parts of the whole argument.

When in doubt just blame the voters

Same in Massachusetts. It's legal in both states only due to technicalities- no actually prohibition in the law in Massachusetts, it was legislative act banning it instead of Constitutional amendment banning it in Iowa...

The general public haven't had their say, it would be banned in both had the voters in the state had their say.

In the next 20 years is will change pretty much across the country.. California is unique with their proposition system.. bet California will change in the next 10 years.. the folks that defeated this did their homework and were very well funded, the next time the other folks will take a page out of their playbook and capitalize on it.
