This pirate thing is an embarassment to the amazing technology we have. Back when it started there was an article about the little town that was home to these guys - we should have just destroyed it then and there and been done with it. Not talking Obama here, that was Bush's time. We should now just fly a few planes through the area daily and if we see one of those ships just blow it away; we can do it. It's a total joke and not because of Obama. We have an amazing military and we won't use it when we actually should.

The point is how we get them back safely and all anyone wants to do is bloviate about Obama, liberals or how we use the military to blow up a port?

I didn't mean that boat. How we get the people off, who knows - a big smile and a nice telepromted speech I guess.

But after that . . . blow away two boats when just pirates are on them and that will largely end the problem.

Real World

Um, no you can't just blow boats out of the water. You have to know that the boat in question is that of the pirates. I think the problem they have in dealing with the pirates, is that the ships, by law, are not armed for defense. Arming them would mean that there'd be fire fights on shipping vessels. So that's a no-go. Doing commando style raids could maybe work, but that might cause the pirates to use different, more aggressive, and violent tactics, to show that they mean business. As it is right now, there are few injuries to any of the captives, and the fear may be that to aggressive a course could change that. Personally, I'd pay these people in counterfeit dollars, with a tracking device, and then blow them to kingdom come when they pull away from the ship. That, and/or I'd try to identify the pirates, and attack them on land with gun ships and commando's.
