A few years ago when leaving Puerto Rico we noticed one of these being used in their airport for drugs. What was interesting about that was it blew air or something around the person and supposedly could detect even minute traces of any drug on your clothing.
There are SO MANY pitfalls and false positive potentials inherent in this that I'm sorta surprised to still see it around, tho it might not be the exact same piece of equipment,who knows. Anyone been to Logan lately? Tried to have someone pick you up at your terminal? It's insanity.
