Default Obama going to watch SB with an interesting group..

do not want to read all that much into it, but it is interesting he has such a diverse political group...wonder if suits are optional.. or will they wear jeans???

POLITICO 44 | The next president. Minute by Minute

Like the prez himself, Sens. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) and Arlen Specter (R-Pa.), and Reps. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.), Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) and Patrick Murphy (D-Pa.) will no doubt be cheering for Ben Roethlisberger’s boys.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), the lucky devil, is the only one to score an invite to both the ****tail party and the Super Bowl bash. And so it’s not a total boys’ club, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) and D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton will be on hand too.

Other congressmen set to watch the national event at the glam locale (what will the Sunday dress code be!?) are Reps. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), Artur Davis (D-Ala.), Paul Hodes (D-N.H.) and Fred Upton (R-Mich.).

He's trying to get the stimulus passed

There's a dinner tomorrow night too-the Alfalfa Group or something. No journalists can go, but Sarah Palin will be there, along with Obama.

Edit: Alfalfa Club,not group http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0109/18161.html

Its a superbowl party I would assume team jerseys would be the required dress code.

Not necessarily. Murphy is my Congressman, Pennsylvania 8th which is at the easternmost part of the state on the NJ line, suburbs of Philly. we are 300 miles from Pittsburgh and closer to any of NE,NYJ,NYG, Phil, Wash and Balt than to Pittsburgh. People here consider Pittsburgh part of the midwest and we are closer geographically/politically/culturally ( yeah there is some of that in Philly- cheesesteak and a beer) to any of the above mentioned cities than Pitt.

Murphy was the only Congressman to vote against a House resolution congratulating the Giants for their victory in last year's Super Bowl. His reasoning was that he was an Eagles fan and as such, there was no way he was congratulating the Giants for anything!!

Sarah Palin...? I wonder how many men in Washington have fantasies about her? Of course, most of these fantasies include dancing to "Viva-Viagra"!

No "finger" foods. Just the stuff one uses toothpicks with.
