Default George Bush was warned about 9/11 attack but did nothing

9/11 advance-knowledge debate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

He sure didn't keep America safe.

Over 3,000 Americans died on 9/11 because he did nothing.

He compounded the situation by sending 4,200 more American boys to die in Iraq.

So you are looking at over 7,000 Americans who needlessley died under his watch.

I'm not sure that Wikipedia link is convincing but even if you assume it's true I don't know what he was supposed to do. Even if he knew if would be an airline attack he couldn't very well shut down airlines indefinitely and wait it out. Or kick all middle easterners off planes. I guess he could have warned people but then he'd be accused of scare mongering.

Let's suppose on the morning of 9/11, they kicked the 19 hijackers off the planes based on credible evidence. you would heard screams about profiling and how they violated their civil rights....
Remember the guy who tried to get into the ****pit of a Northwest flight only to be tackled and suffocated by the passengers? His mother went on Nightline in the summer of 2001 to complain how they violated his civil rights and he meant no harm. They sued the airlines but it went to trial post 9/11 and went nowhere IIRC.Had there not been a 9/11 the outcome likely would have been different but there now exists a post 9/11 world where we know the dangers firsthand of someone entering the ****pit. My point is that hindsight is always 20/20 and as BF posted, what were they supposed to do without specific evidence. They couldn't shutter the airline industry for a year or two. That would serve the terrorist goals which is why they threaten attacks around the holidays to disrupt the travel industry.

PLEEEEEAASE>>

Not this AGAIN!

No American knew what was going to happen, did anyone think that a terrorist attack could happen? Of Course, but the particulars of where and when and how, NO.

Mike, when they arrested the Old Blind Muslim who tried to bring the towers down in 1993 he looked into the camera's and said for the whole world to see "we will be back to finish the job" the next day Pres Clinton went down to Martha's Vineyard and played with his Hollywood friends.

If GW Bush had tried to Tighten Security in this country at it's airports & Borders if GW Bush had tried to Profile Muslims before 9/11 The democrats and the politically correct Liberals would have CRUCIFIED HIM.

Clinton Had Eight Years
Bush Had Eight Months (if he tried the dingobats would have been screaming "impeachment")

There is a very good chance that the Gov. could not have stopped 9/11. But the facts remain that the Bush Administration disregarded critical information pertaining to terrorism before 9/11. Now, this same administration is raving about how it kept us safe from terrorism during those two terms. A FOX NEWS segment even goes as far as, Bush inherits the 9/11 attacks.

Were you in the room, when this happened? You just can't make stuff up and think that anyone will believe it is true.

Bin Laden had already attacked the United States, THREE TIMES DUEING THE CLINTON YEARS! Now if he got a brief that said that Bin Laden was going to hijack planes on 9/11 with boxcutters and crash them into buildings, then you might have something.

I can tell you right now, that they are still looking to attack the US, and as soon as they get there release from Gitmo, THEY WILL!
