GREENFIELD, Calif. -- A father is accused of trying to sell his 14-year-old daughter for marriage in hopes of getting money and 150 cases of beer in return, Greenfield police said.

Macelino de Jesus Martinez, 36, was arrested Monday on suspicion of trying to arrange to have his daughter marry Margarito de Jesus Galindo, 18, for $16,000, 100 cases of Corona, 50 cases of Modelo beer, several cases of meat, two cases of wine, 50 cases of Gatorade and 50 cases of soft drinks, authorities said.

The girl moved in with Galindo and when payments were not received, her father called police to get his daughter back.

Greenfield Police Chief Joe Grebmeier told KSBW Action News 8 that both Martinez and Galindo, who are immigrants from Mexico, face the possibility of being deported as illegal immigrants.

In fact, Martinez went to police in December with the bogus runaway story because Galindo had not paid him, Grebmeier said.
The case, said Grebmeier, “went from a runaway to a repo.”

This is what happens when you permit a full fledged invasion from the 3rd world, or from any foreign nation, without any set of rules, organization, guidelines, or documentation. The reason why this, and other assorted "customs" of the 3rd world are becoming more common, is because there is no assymilation. There is no organized system where which immigrants are documented, processed, and encouraged to learn the ways of the place they are attempting to become a citizen of. People simply walk across, pitch a tent, and flash the finger to bot the Constitution, and the people it governs.

Just wait till they're all green lighted. Watch how quickly entitlement programs, and payouts, explode. This country is in a world of hurt moving forward, for a variety of different reasons. Illegal Immigration is one of them.

Not at all saying it is good, but this is an incident.. not sure what can be deduced from that.. otoh there is a whole lot of people who step outside of the lines of expected behavior and have no regard for the law whether they were born here or not..
