Informed sources in Washington tell Newsmax that Israel indeed will launch a strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities soon – possibly in just days as President George W. Bush prepares to leave office.
The reason: The time clock has begun to run out. Iran is close to acquiring a nuclear device under the control of its radical president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Mohamed ElBaradei said in June that Iran would have a nuclear weapon in as little as six months.
That six-month period has passed.
Reports of Israel’s decision to imminently launch strikes, although unconfirmed, would seem to contradict the Bush stance outlined in a front-page New York Times story last week, which asserted that Bush rejected a plea from Israel last year to help it raid Iran’s main nuclear complex.

It certainly coincides with Israel being in Gaza ... a version of softening the target. I pray this does not happen .. however ... should it happen would some of Iran's allies themselves be happy about it? In this twisted world of ours even friends are enemies ... or should I say friends don't want their allies to be too strong.
Somehow Israel will try to paint themselves as 'the victim' again probably, while the rest of the world rolls their eyes.
I can't believe not one intelligent person in their government realizes that they are on the brink of starting WWIII. Maybe they know this actually, and don't give a ***** that the rest of the world is going to burn so long as they kill their enemy.

In it's current state, the world won't be fighting a WWIII. it would require America on one side and either Russia or China on the other. China would be a serious enemy (mainly to invade, they lack power projection), but the Chinese are one of our closest trading partners and would be foolish to jeopardize that because of a regional war in the middle east. Russia doesn't have the power to stand a chance against NATO anymore and they know it, especially considering the alliance has gown to include countries bordering Russia itself.

Aren't "Informed Sources" the same guys who have Brady never playing again?
"Informed Sources in Washington," by virtue of the obviously untraceable "source", is simply shorthand for "Eh, we think this might happen."
I actually don't see it as likely, though we do have to wait to see what happens in the next few days, obviously. You can't really disprove so random a guess, but you can identify the flimsiness of this assertion, in the form we now have it.

You may want to look at this from Israel's perspective. You have a nearby country that over and over again states they want to destroy your country, make it go "bye bye".
Add in that fact that this same country is funding and arming neighboring terrorists that have been killing your citizens.
Couple these with the fact that this country is racing toward having the ability to produce nuclear weapons, that not only they could use, but also use to arm extreme terrorists.
Anyone who is loose or light with the facts love to blame Israel. Israel is not on the brink of starting WWIII, rather, I would point to Iran. Stop blaming the victim and start learning about who the real enemy is.
