Why would it be on any president to turn this mess around.

The president is not the one buying Toyota's, Honda's and Nissan's and parking them in their driveways. That would be the majority of ignorant Americans who don't give a @#@$, of course until now when they see spending their money with Japan has had bad affects on the entire country and not just the big 3!

The president is not the one buying 400,000 homes while working a part time shift at burger king. He is also not the one giving loans to said people who shouldn't get a loan for a TV, never mind a house.

I think we as Americans need to start thinking about what we can do to help, and not sit around waiting for one person to wave a magic wand and have everything go back to happy times.

I don't think you can blame a president for a recession or expect him to fix one. I agree with you. The problem is, our government "thinks" we expect them to fix it. Personally, I don't expect that at all.

He won the election because he made people believe he could do it :

"By a margin of 70% to 11%, registered voters nationwide said the economy will get better during Obama's time in office"

So let's go.

Of course, I could be President and do nothing and economy would probably get better just because of it's cyclic nature but that aside, he won because people thought "change you can believe in" would fix it. So fix it.

I purposely found one around the time of the election. The people elected him thinking he could fix the economy. He has a pretty approval rating now but based on that poll, if things stagnate it's going to go down and go down fast.
