Yes there are cyclical climate changes, but yes man also can have a dramatic affect on these climate changes. It's really not that complicated.

Even if that is true - which I am not saying - I still don't want a fringe element running this thing. A moderate who believe in MMGW is one thing but a fringe lunatic could have a dramatic effect on prices both for individual consumers and businesses.

well at least you're being honest. The only reason why there is any resistence to acceptance of MMGW is because of the reasons you just listed. When you put corporate money behind scientists, you can get them to deny that the sky is blue, and come up with dubious statistics to support it.

Remember that we use something like 150 Billion gallons of gas a year. So an increase of 50 cents per gallon (which is VERY conservative) for carbon emissions reduction costs us $75 Billion a year. For that price you'd better be REAL sure it's making a difference. And, again, 50 cents a gallon is very conservative. It's probably more like a $150 Billion a year tax increase. Yes - on working families.
