A good strategy to vote for Stevens knowing that he's going to jail. He'll be repalced by a republican, right?
Not sure if the Governor would pick a replacement or if they'd have a new election but, either way, a Republican would be the replacement.

So you would vote for a convicted felon probably heading to prison over a Democrat? My what interesting principles you have. Better to let corrupt criminals run the country than have someone possibly raise your taxes or whatever other irrational fears you have.....
By the way, I get YOUR rational behind the vote, your in favor of his predecessor and the concentration of power for the Dems, but I highly doubt that that was the reason for how Alaskans voted.
I also don't understand how Republicans who claim to care about earmarks and spending could prefer Stevens over any democrat.
Why change now? They haven't cared for the last eight years that W and friends have raped the country.
And if, for whatever reason, he doesn't end up in jail, Alaskans have knowingly reelected possibly the most corrupt politician in the US.
Right now beggars can't be choosers and Republicans will be begging for votes to filibuster. It's not the optimal situation (no kidding) but it's where we are.
Gone from the national stage, for now at least. You know what I meant when I rebuked your tactic of spinning rejection and critique of a stupid person with "whining." It flies in the face of basic logic that I would ever "whine" about someone who was instrumental in handing the election to Obama.
Well, I don't see Palin as a moron. I see her as a self made accomplishment, who simply isn't as well rehearsed in the national spotlight as a career hack like Joe Biden is. The preasure on that woman, and the absolute abuse she took in the media, is something that I feel she handled much better as the campaign wore on. The woman rose to become an incredibly effective governor, from nothing, so moron is hardly what I'd call her. I didn't vote for her, but I respect her unlike most in here.

I think Gindal will go right past her although maybe not until 2016 depending on Obama's favorability ratings in 2010. If Stevens goes to jail, Palin should consider going for his Senate seat, she could get some real world experience out of Alaska and rebuild her new found lightweight image.
I've read that line of thinking already somewhere, maybe even in this forum.

She's not a left wing loon so she must be a Moron, next time out she will run for president and she will beat them, Bush is a Moron and he beat them Twice---------

According to Moodys, 1 state (out of 50, not 57) is not in, or on the verge of a recession....ALASKA. Palin is the CEO of the state, meaning she runs it.
To say she is stupid is pig headed. You let the mainstream media cloud your mind.

Moron is maybe the wrong word, since she seems like a quick learn and does have political skills, which is not something I'm ever in awe of even with Obama. Her ignorance, and celebration of it is why I can't stand her.
In a state where all you have to do is stand up and convince everyone you're incredibly religious, I don't think her being popular means she is an "incredibly effective" governor. But if your rationale for liking her is simply a skillful rise to power, I can name some others you might like.
