If Rahm Emmanuel is Chief of Staff, it would be interesting to see if the Administration goes after Reid and Pelosi and organizes a Congressional coup to replace them in the leadership.
Watch the Emmanuel story closely. If he accepts the offer, it would signal the Obama Administration having an iron %$$% bastid to be able to say "No" to several groups that may feel entitled to push extreme left agendas.
I'm mezza, mezza on Emmanuel.

"The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of doubt, what is laid before him." Leo Tolstoy, 1897

You could have said the same for the Democrats about a decade ago. Republicans will be fine, we just need to fins a real Republican. Gindal is my latest hope.
I assume you mean Jeb. Nah, I don't see any more Bushes getting nominated.
I actually think they might test the waters. Jeb is much more moderate and intellectual then George. He's the one that was supposed to be a shining star in politics, while George was more of a black (drunk and high) sheep for most of his life. I don't know how the public will react, but God knows this country has the worst case of ADD. By 12 or 18, Jeb might be up there.
American politics is like the economy. You can EXPECT swings to happen. Mark my word, after the Democrats straighten things out and get America back on track, the electorate will become complacent again and vote for another Republican who will screw things up all over again.
[QUOTE=shmessy;1146884]Eh, you're used to jumping off the train when the team is down - - after all who was it that infamously posted that he was dumping his season tickets once Brady went down?{QUOTE]
I was never really on the McCain train...
I voted Romney in the primary and I got stuck with McCain in the
general election. After the 2nd debate I decided to vote for the
candidate who best met my views. That candidate happened to be
Bob Barr.
As far as the Patriots go..... Yes did post a few of my games for sale
when Brady went down. The only game I sold was the Steelers game
which is good because I will be out of town that weekend.
I have had season tickets since 1979, so I am far from a band wagon
fan. After sitting though 2-12 Ron Earhardt & 1-15 Seasons from both
Rod Rust and Dick McPhearson and kept my seats.
The real bandwagon fans are the guys on the waiting list.
Have you looked at the ticket exchange list recently.
There are a ton of seats available and nobody is buying them.
I will go to every game, but the Steelers game.
I am not sure what I am going to do when Belichick and Brady retire.
Probably keep my seats and only go to a few games. I have young
kids who will probably be pissed if they found out I gave up my seats.
I just feel that Kraft is going to outprice the product down the line.
Just being honest.

Just not a big admirer of folks who panic at market bottoms:
I think while this stings now, in the long run it will be good for the republican party. The last 2 years, I've gotten acustomed to saying, "I'm a conservative, not a republican" If you listened to the debates, Mcain sounded as liberal as Obama most of the time. The Palin vp choice was the most energized the conservative base has been in years...until the first debate happened and everyone remembered who the top of the ticket was. The republicans tried to cater to the left in this election, and all it did was cost them the right.
The nation is still a center right nation. Look at California, where the citizens overwhelmingly voted for a ban on gay marraiges. Hopefully the republican party will realize this, create a plan and move back to their base.
