Default For the first time in my adult life I'm really proud of my country

I'm 52, and while I was pleased the the Bill Clinton elections and the Democratic gains in 2006, overall, in my adult life the Democrats have been running as moderate Republicans. But, no longer!

Do you believe it looks like we actually elected a black man named Barack Hussein Obama president, a man who ran on a liberal platform that included national health care, alternative energy, and increased taxes on the wealthy! A man who is openly for gay rights and made it clear he favors a woman's right to choose, a man who believes in manmade global warming, and believes in the United Nations! A man who supports labor unions and favors tough regulation on big business. This is the most wonderful victory of my adult life.

The idea that Kerry will get a cabinet job, does not sit well with me.
If you are for change, don't pick Kerry.

Abraham Lincoln was actually the 1st but we'll let that technicality go for the time being.

I'm pretty proud too. Ultimately we will have a firm opinion 4 years from now, but I believe it ushers in a new period in our nation.

We needed a leader who inspires. I can't wait to see how many what percentage of voting age people actually voted.

It honestly gives me goosebumps and inspires me. He won't be perfect, no president is perfect but we need to go in a new direction and the people have spoken.

the demographics who usually don't vote have made their voice heard.
