What department u in? I've got friends in the DOR, MBTA, Mass Highway, and the DMV. Most of the time they're all running errands, sleeping under a tree when the weather is nice, or surfing the net. I constantly hear them talk about how they're hiring 10 more people, and meanwhile, the 50 already there do nothing. What's worse, is they all complain about the money they make. I tell them all it's a great gig if you can get it. One of my buds told me about how at one job, they had a game room with a pool table, Direct TV with the NFL package, and a bunch of video game consoles. The cops on detail, workers, etc. all hang out in there during work. What a sham this state is. I'd guess the payrolls are bloated by a solid 50%.

So by voting YES, we, the people, will be able to send a Shock & Awe message, via Molotov ****tail, to the state house, stating that WE'VE HAD ENOUGH!. When the state/city gubmits are giving free apartments to illegal aliens, free med to them, and is adding on hundred of millions of extra dollars to a budget in April, then crying about a billion dollars deficit in September, it's time to start firing rounds in the gubmits direction. When everyone knows that tough times, and lean budgets are on the horizon, and the governor adds 2,000 jobs to the state payrolls in his first two years, it's time to start firing rounds in the gubmits direction. When the City of Boston has over 400 employees making six figures, it's time to start firing rounds into the gubmits direction. Forget the BS about schools not getting any books. That's total BS. Eliminating the state payroll tax will mean that people like Obama's illegal aunt will just have to be cut from my wallet, and the Waltham Tourism Council will have to find it's $100k elsewhere. It'll mean that we have to try to educate kids for a little less than the $15k per pupil, yes, that's $15k per pupil, each year. My friends who work for the cities and state in this state, will have to actually do something, as opposed to talk to me about how they sleep all day.
I was actually doing a little more research into this because you and some others have made some good points....

I'm actually reconsidering my vote. Not so I get more money, but more in line with the points you make above. There is too much fluff in MA gov't. Too much cronyism...and sleeping!

Our neighboring state, New Hampshire, has no state income tax, nor any sales tax. I wonder how they've survived for so long? NH doesn't have the commerce, geological advantages, or transit traffic that Massachusetts does either.

If you do your research, NH isn't an easy place to afford to live. There property taxes are incredible. They actually tax you if you have a nice view!

is there a difference with the 2000 vorte versus the vote Nov 4th 2008???

was 2000 a suggestion? or was the legislature required to enact it and bypassed it?

I currently pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $2,000 for my PT. I currently pay around $3,000 in state payroll. So even if my property taxes double, I'll be plus somewhere near $1,000. When you got illegal aliens getting free housing, and MassHealth, why the F shouldn't I vote to keep my own money?

"If" that is true (and I have no reason to doubt it), that's truly sad! I would hate to have a job where I did nothing and learned nothing. I'm sure they're not all like that but I'm just saying.

What does this have to do the comment to which you are replying?

Listen, when someone I know worked for Mass Highway, they litterally slept under a tree all day in the summer, ran errands, went to the gym, or surfed the net. His boss was nick named "no show" Tony, cuz he was always a no show at work. When I was talking to a different friend, and mentioned this, he said "wow, my brother talks about that guy too". Vote YES!

Thank God it's a free country, huh?
Not even a mod can vote multiple times. I'm sure Patters can verify that for you. Since everything I say is suspect since I'm not an Obama supporter. Maybe some people voted that haven't come back since. Maybe some don't want their opinion known. So now that it's viewable they won't vote. I know I get PMs from people who don't want to get into things in this forum with the left wing bee hive that swarms any opposing view. But, agree with me.
