Default Obama promises to bankrupt the US coal industry

It just keeps getting worse and worse, the more we find out about this man. He surely wears a Che tee-shirt underneath his custom-made suits.

Imagine if John McCain had whispered somewhere that he was willing to bankrupt a major industry? Would this declaration not immediately be front page news? Well, Barack Obama actually flat out told the San Francisco Chronicle (SF Gate) that he was willing to see the coal industry go bankrupt in a January 17, 2008 interview. The result? Nothing. This audio interview has been hidden from the public...until now. Here is the transcript of Obama's statement about bankrupting the coal industry (emphasis mine):

Barack Obama said:

Let me sort of describe my overall policy.

What I've said is that we would put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else's out there.

I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap and trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.

Just saw this on an extreme right wing site.. it goes on and on and on and on and on.. in reality 30% of American has voted and not sure the continual hysteria, lies and hyperbole will make much difference.. maybe they can make a youtube compilation video about it.. that will convince me.

If you really listen after he says this he is cut off, perhaps there is more.. if you go to the SF story there is no mention and there is no proof that the youtube video is from the SF Gate..

With that being said these You Tube Videos are a tad disengenuous and usually false..

Yeah, the SF Chronicle is the epicenter of the "vast right-wing conspiracy".

Once again slowly it is not on the SF Gate website, it is on a you tube video.. the problem is that the interview just ends without qualification..

At least that's one promise he can keep.

Yeah, and you want to hold out hope that maybe, perhaps, just in case Obama may possibly have said something to negate every thing else he said about his desire to destroy the entire coal industry which provides more than 50% of the U.S. energy needs.

Talk about someone who drinks the Saul Alinsky/Bill Ayers/Bernadine Dorhn Kool-Aid. Your picture's on the label.
