She was wrong in that specific fact (even though 30,000 Canadians volunteered to fight in Vietnam. They just fought under the American flag) but, she was right that Canada does need us and our military which many Canadians forget. They're so proud of their socialized medicine (even though many complain about long waits to get surgeries and many come to the US for that too) a big reason they can afford it is because they don't have to spend their tax dollars on defense or a large military when their big brother to the south does it for them.

This has been discussed before but I know a couple who live in Toronto, the wife has had significant circulatory issues.. she has had a few surgeries and has been very satisfied with the quality of care and expediency of service.

Anecdotally when I lived in Northern Maine, many of my neighbors would travel to Canada for Dental Care.. they all said it was as good and about 1/3 as much as it was in the US.

Anyways always nice to see the woman with the adams apple and huge hands, get dealt with.
