The more we bail out private corporations, the more we seal our fate of the fall of the American economic empire. Let us just keep rewarding LOUSY American companies that don't deserve a penny of our tax dollars while average Americans keep getting the shaft...and left holding the bill.
They'd have to think we'd be idiots to support such a proposal.
"...it's unclear whether Chrysler's majority owner, Cerberus Capital Management LP, would be willing to pay up, or whether the federal government might even get involved to save one or both struggling automakers."

Just to clarigy the above, Cerberus Capital Management is a HOLDING company. Holding companies almost ALWAYS sell every company in which they own a majority share just to make a profit. If the gov't gives them money, all they'd be doing is helping Cerberus achieve their goal of selling GM for a profit.

We just have to try to evaluate them the best we can."
