Default Social class welfare

A very interesting column by an intellectual conservative.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/10/op...=1&oref=slogin

...

But over the past few decades, the Republican Party has driven away people who live in cities, in highly educated regions and on the coasts.... Republican political tacticians decided to mobilize their coalition with a form of social class warfare.

...

What had been a disdain for liberal intellectuals slipped into a disdain for the educated class as a whole.

...

And so, politically, the G.O.P. is squeezed at both ends. The party is losing the working class by sins of omission — because it has not developed policies to address economic anxiety. It has lost the educated class by sins of commission — by telling members of that class to go away.

Well, maybe if the education system in America had not been hijacked by the left wing, there would be more to respect about "being educated" in America these days.

The left has systematically purged all of the Judeo-Christian roots out of America by removing prayer from public schools, by insisting on a materialist (Marxist) view of life via Darwinism-only policies, by removing any observance of any Christian holidays from the public arena, by caricaturing religious people as neanderthals, idiots, fools, etc, etc.

All Christian virtues of charity, hope, brotherly love, and public investment have been trampled by those with their agenda to turn America into a secular materialist socialist country no longer under God but under fallen man, now represented by the idol-worship of Barack Obama.

The left has moved the American culture so far to the left that most people are asking whatever happened to their country?? Whatever happened to the America that offered refuge to those who wanted to create a life pleasing to God.

Don't blame "Republicans" for this; blame the left for hijacking America and turning it upside down, and inside out.
