I'm explaining to you why your premise is retarded, by citing some examples from this very forum. I've been called racist by people in here, which is laughable. Racism is indeed something serious, which is why tossing it around at anyone who says something you don't agree with, is idiotic.
I already told BF, so I'll say it to you as well. Calling someone a racist with no proof or because you "think" they are racist is as bad as being a racist.

It certainly isn't a label we toss around around lightly.

So you're saying because you have inaccurately been labeled a racist, then you have a right to get pissed off when the subject is brought up...I don't understand your rationale.

Maybe this topic is a little too hot for discussion here. I don't want it to become a battle-ground. I was not throwing a grenade...at least not intentionally.

But the biggest question I have is why do some people actually get pissed off when racism is discussed? The first thing you have to look it is who says this? What kind of person are they? Think about it...and you'll realize that 99.9% of the people who are angered by discussions of racism are white...SURPRISED?

Since the white race has been the major perpetrators of racism in America over the past 400 years, we really don't have any say of significance. When was the last time you were a victim of racism and felt powerless because you were outnumbered 9-1?

So the next time you get upset when racism is brought up, please be reminded you have no reason to be upset...it's not about you.

I'm so glad you posted this because no one has responded to my reply in Harry’s thread from earlier. That charge of racism was absolutely ridicules and I challenged anyone to show a credible reason that it was. "We” Interesting. I am not part of that "we" that perpetrated racism over the past 400 years. And "we" are not angered by discussion of racism; "we" are angered of being accused of being racist. It's easy to say "oh, I didn't mean you" but when white republicans are painted with such a wide brush, then it paints us all. It won't be long when the label becomes real discrimination. I see hints of it at work even now, being the only republican there. No you can't tell by looking but if suspected, we'll see a real difference in treatment. We have become "whitey” a person that hates anything not white, is greedy, is racist, a dumb hick, etc. etc, etc.

"We" don’t have to take it and "we" have a right to be pissed. And how's this for feeling powerless?....A new president is about to be elected in large part because of his inference that we don't trust him because he doesn't look like those other presidents on those dollar bills. The next president of the United States is calling us racist, not you mind you, just white republicans, and the good democrat white people are advancing that it is true and grabbing as many people over to that camp as they can. I am pissed about it, absolutely

I watched in an interesting exchange during one of the focus groups last night. this white woman, sitting in between a black woman, and a black man, was asked if her mind was changed by the debate. She said she agreed with Obama on all the issues but..he..just...didnt close the deal for her. the black woman just kind of looked at her and asked if she agreed with him on everything what was the problem and the lady couldnt give an answer.

I said to myself UH-OH!!!!!! because he was BLACK maybe???

naaah, couldnt be........because racism doesnt exist, its all made up by liberals!!

They say white supremacist things like "english is the language of success" and they make outrageous claims about mexicans being more prone to crime. Anytime you focus hatred towards a group of poor people risking life and limb to come to a foreign country just to survive, you are a hateful person.

I can argue with people that think it's a problem in the emergency rooms and an economic burden, but it never stops at that. The latino heritage and different language always becomes part of it and inflammatory words are used by "proud" Americans like "crimaliens" whose only crime is that they were born in a poor country with no opportunities. That kind of arrogance and entitlement is always aided by a not so subtle feeling of racial superiority, and that's why the majority of people who go on and on about illegal immigration are completely racist.
I actually strongly oppose illegal immigration for one reason only. You have to come here LEGALLY.

I also support closed borders on our north & south borders with increased border security. The whole world can't live here, so it has to regulated.

I oppose any of my tax dollars subsidizig any illegal immigrants. You come here illegally, you're on your own...pass at your own risk. Need medical care...then go home and get it.

that's why I wrote this:

The problems is you have looney tunes like Nazi World who always take it too far, and use it as a way to condone open racism.

That being said, it's easy to say "they have to come here legally" when you aren't in their position. And even if you think the US can't logistically support them, hating them for survival instincts is pretty messed up.

Well your reason is valid because you're not a white republican. If you were then you'd be a racist.

I agree with most of what you say here sb42. Just because a person is white doesn't make him/her guilty of anything. You and I are not guilty of slavery...nor are we responsible to make up for it. It had nothing to do with us.

I think partisan politics has gone too far on both sides...it makes me sick. We're all Americans and would fight side by side to defend our country if necessary. I also believe our federal government LIKES to have us divided and that partisanship was part of a master plan...yes, I'm DEAD serious.

Of course republicans aren't racist but if that is the impression democrats want to send out...then guess what? Racist will go to the republican party. So as democrats, we can actually make that statement become true.

"Oh look, it's the racist party...the republicans"

So what's a racist going to do? he'll join the republican party. Bigotry and racism know no party lines...let's make that very clear. I've met plenty of racist democrats in my life.
