Default The make believe maverick...

the Rolling Stone hits the mark again.. very good read, when I was done I was feeling less "mavericky" than before I read it.. the truth is starting to come out..

Make-Believe Maverick : Rolling Stone

Quote:
"Why? Where are you going to, John?"

"Oh, I'm going to Rio."

"What the hell are you going to Rio for?"

McCain, a married father of three, shrugs.

"I got a better chance of getting laid."

Dramesi, who went on to serve as chief war planner for U.S. Air Forces in Europe and commander of a wing of the Strategic Air Command, was not surprised. "McCain says his life changed while he was in Vietnam, and he is now a different man," Dramesi says today. "But he's still the undisciplined, spoiled brat that he was when he went in."

the man is a fraud... through and through...

how can you vote for an angry old man who can't even once look his debate opponent in the eye for a full 90 minutes?...

he may have offered a split-second glance and awkward smile and wierd blink at Obama, but he never really looked at the man... not once...

If McCain's a maverick, he's a decrepit one.

That must be him wearing the sunglasses in a bar at night. Only a MAVERICK would do that. The guy standing nest to him who is maverick really isn't. The true maverick because he would be the one wearing the sunglasses.

Some interesting quotes from that article.. not left wing mud slinging, but some from the right question his ability to lead as well..

Quote:
At least three of McCain's GOP colleagues have gone on record to say that they consider him temperamentally unsuited to be commander in chief. Smith, the former senator from New Hampshire, has said that McCain's "temper would place this country at risk in international affairs, and the world perhaps in danger. In my mind, it should disqualify him." Sen. Domenici of New Mexico has said he doesn't "want this guy anywhere near a trigger." And Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi weighed in that "the thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He is erratic. He is hotheaded."
Quote:
Indeed, McCain's neocon makeover is so extreme that Republican generals like Colin Powell and Brent Scowcroft have refused to endorse their party's nominee. "The fact of the matter is his judgment about what to do in Iraq was wrong," says Richard Clarke, who served as Bush's counterterrorism czar until 2003. "He hung out with people like Ahmad Chalabi. He said Iraq was going to be easy, and he said we were going to war because of terrorism. We should have been fighting in Afghanistan with more troops to go after Al Qaeda. Instead we're at risk because of the mistaken judgment of people like John McCain."
Quote:
I'm sure John McCain loves his country," says Richard Clarke, the former counterterrorism czar under Bush. "But loving your country and lying to the American people are apparently not inconsistent in his view."

i presented the quotes above weeks ago, and i don't remember a single Bushie here acknowledging the point... not even the poster who challenged me to provide examples of fellow lawmakers voicing no confidence in McZombie (Fog, i believe)...

thread went silent, as usual...

Yea the silence is quite deafening.. content to continue the all the left bashing, soon Fogboy and his side kick Harry boy will kick in with something with 5" letters in boldface that will have nothing to do with this thread..
