I know there will be the usual right contingent who will dismiss this as propaganda, but give it a look.. it does explain how he became chairman of the board, and that it had nothing to do with Ayers.. once again as someone is familiar with non profit boards, boards are usually the idea folks.. and they give direction and accountability to the grant.. the other folks do the work and answer to the board, not the other way around.
In fact, according to several people involved, Mr. Ayers played no role in Mr. Obama’s appointment. Instead, it was suggested by Deborah Leff, then president of the Joyce Foundation, a Chicago-based group whose board Mr. Obama, a young lawyer, had joined the previous year. At a lunch with two other foundation heads, Patricia A. Graham of the Spencer Foundation and Adele Simmons of the MacArthur Foundation, Ms. Leff suggested that Mr. Obama would make a good board chairman, she said in an interview. Mr. Ayers was not present and had not suggested Mr. Obama, she said.

Who the hell cares whether Ayers or anyone else recommended Obama?? That's meaningless. What DOES matter is that once they met, Ayers, his wife and co-terrorist, Bernadette Dorhn, and others of that murky, radical left, all warmly embraced the "open-minded", good-speaking Barack Obama as not only a "friend" but as an ally and potential future water-carrier for their cause.

Even worse, McCain embraced Vietnamese leaders at the expense of MIAs. Damned if we, damned if we don't, looks like either way we end up with a terrorist-loving president.

You're going to have a hard time selling that baloney. McCain could have gotten out of the Hanoi "Hilton" POW camp four years earlier than he did, if he had wanted to. The North Vietnamese offered him his freedom but McCain upheld the unwritten credo of all US servicemen: "First one in, first one out." Since McCain had been imprisoned by the NVA later than many of his fellow POWs, he would not leave before any of them did.
He stayed in line and asked no special favors, though the North Vietnamese tempted him many times, and then even beat him unmercifully when he rebuffed their temptations. Which is even more admirable when you consider the severe extent of his injuries plus the fact that he got virtually zero medical aid while he was imprisoned.
So when the American people look at who Barack Obama has befriended and even followed in his life, and who John McCain has been loyal to, there is simply no comparison. Obama has had some very dangerous associates in his life time. Not only these two completely unrepentent America-born terrorists, Ayers and Dorhn, but his pastor of 20 years, the man Obama calls "uncle", Jeremiah Wright: "God bless America??? NO!! God DAMN America!!!"

Meanwhile, there are a number of right wingers who call him Songbird:
And let's consider his record: lost 4 planes before entering combat, flew 20 hours of combat missions, then got shot down and became a POW where he made propaganda tapes for the enemy, then signed a confession to get out of Vietnam. Thirty years later he led the drive for peace with the Vietnamese, even at the expense of the MIAs.

This smacks so much of a lame attempt to "Swiftboat" John McCain, as some truly patriotic Americans did in scuttling John Kerry's failed attempt at the presidency 4 years ago. Totally lacking in originality, not mention it misrepresents the facts. He flew well over 20 combat missions -- means on at least 20 different separate occasions he put his life at risk by engaging the enemy in time of war. So those "20 hours" of combat missions were all like 20 hours of as sitting duck in a shooting gallery. Could YOU do that??
John McCain's life record speaks for itself, as does Barack Obama's. The American people will judge the man John McCain as to whether he is worthy to be their president, and they will consider Barack Obama by the exact same criteria. The American people will decide who is more worthy than the other. I am confident of that.

Yes, McCain's record speaks for itself: adulter, womanizer, songbird.

So they embraced Obama, not the other way around.. the truth will set you free.. a pretty good article debunking one of the favorite right wing myths is debunked and you deflect it this way..

I read the Chicago Tribune everyday. On page two, there is a columnist by the name of John Kass, who goes after everyone regardless of political party. Mayor Daley is his favorite target. Kass not only offers his opinion, but backs it up with hard facts. He has rattled Obama's cage a few times (house purchase) but has never printed anything close to what the right-wing members here have stated as the God's honest truth. Until Kass or a reputable person comes forward with an article linking Obama with wrongdoing, its just politics as usual.

This is one of those things that the more times you say it, the more of a possibility it will be true.. even though time and time again it has shown that it has no legs.. some of the sheeple will believe it, but many will remain skeptical.
