Re: If you are intrigued by Marxism, please read this...
The idea of communism is sound, the execution of it by the Russians, is not. China doesn't seem to have the issues that 40's Russias did.
I always anaylized Communism, and I think it would and can succeed in small non-industrial countries or communities... The second you need someone to manage a factory, they will feel they want more than anyone else... or someone will feel they do more work than someone else...
If every worked the farm, and built buildings, and everyone shared the fruits of the labor, it works perfectly... but the second you need to elevate someone to a managing position, then jealousy and greed happens...

If you are interested in China's version of communism, please read this:
But you guys are saying that in Karl Marxs work that there is a chapter on mass killing to stay in power...
You are confusing the actions of people in power with the government model they institute.
Where is your link to the American Democracy political machine responsible for almost wiping out the American Indian?
There is no perfect political model, and in any model, you need a smart fair leader to run it, or anything can turn into a mess... No matter what the system.

The social ideas behind communist have been thrown away for capitalism over there.
I think it's a bit like Stalinist Russia, in the way that they claim communism to justify the state taking control of the monies/properties of its citizens, but its really just state capitalism.

Here's the problem with Pony's logic:
If anyone promotes any form of economic equality or working class solidarity, they are called a "Marxist." Since Stalin also claimed to be a "Marxist," then all of his actions define "Marxism." So you literally can't be in favor of any ideas that promote economic equality without being in favor of mass killings. So Alinsky, for example, has been categorized as a "Marxist" for his work with the poor, therefore he is also inherently evil and supports state terror tactics. I think you can find this kind of logic at the GOP College for the insanely stupid.

The Republican party is a joke.
They get hysterical over commies and yet see no problem in TRILLIONS in bailouts of financial, housing, and industry institutions.
China is more capitalist than the United States, and that is before the US became socialist the past 3 weeks.
Basically the party has lost its sense of reason or purpose, it's way too partisan now and nothing makes sense anymore.
