VP Debate moderator releasing pro-Obama book?
How can this woman moderate? Sure, she might be a wonderful person, honest, and objective, but why on earth would anyone on the other side, the GOP side, want to take that chance? I'm not sure I would.

I confirmed for us here on GretaWire: the McCain campaign did NOT know about Gwen Ifill’s book (I think I told them when I made my efforts - emails about midnight - to find out!) I am stunned….the campaign (actually both) should have been told before the campaign agreed to have her moderate. It simply is not fair - in law, this would create a mistrial.

It evens out. Liberals are furious that Tom Brokaw will be moderating the next presidential debate. Do a search on youtube for McCain Brokaw for quite a few examples. Right now, liberals are demanding Brokaw apologize for recently citing poll numbers favorable to McCain from a poll taken immediately after the Republican Convention:
MoveOn Demands Apology From Brokaw For Citing False Polling
At any rate, I think journalists are journalists and will strive to bring objectivity to the debates. That goes for both Ifill and Brokaw. These issues crop up every election, but they're nonsense.

Re: VP Debate moderator releasing pro-Obama book?
Don’t panic Saracuda's. The GOP did a real good job of making sure the debate format favors Palin and is set up to hide her un-"readiness". Biden will not be permitted to engage her, or talk to her directly. So all she has to do is answer the questions and throw in a few "zingers" (that he can't challenge), and she can coast through. It shouldn't be a problem since the expectations on how well she will fair are so low.
Also, I could be wrong, but I thought I read that both of them have the questions before hand, so it's gonna be hard for her to get tripped up or caught off guard. Don't quote me on that though.

Re: VP Debate moderator releasing pro-Obama book?
Imagine the NY Time's front page if the moderator had written a book celebrating the life of John McCain. Ten Saturday night skits would follow spoofing the moderator. David letterman would reference it in his top 10 reasons. Olberman would name the moderator the worst person in the world, etc, etc, etc.
