It's 1:08 a.m. Friday the 26th, and it's finally become clear what the McCain plan is:
Theater.
There was never a reason for a rescue, so he's jumped on his horse and run to Washington so he can save us from him.
Prediction: The debate goes on tonight (Friday.) McCain declares he has saved the day and goes off to Mississippi to talk about himself and his brilliant leadership on the air.
Question: How many of us will believe this ridiculous piece of theater.
Tonight, we get to score whether this unfolds, and whether you guys think you are seeing events unfold or a script coming to fruition.
I am stunned by the depth of this guy's cynicism.

I'll predict the debate lasts through the weekend.
PR, mine did not go so far as to rule that out, but I don't see how he pulls it off while still claiming to save the day. My guess is, even though all predictions say "looks like they'll be fighting all weekend," they get done tomorrow.
McSame has choreographed this. He came to Washington to manufacture an epi-crisis on top of the real crisis, and his interests align with those of the house pubbies. That's what he was doing since Monday, and that's why he didn't have time to actually READ the Paulson plan or "Son of Paulson" (the deal as amended.) The House Republicans get to say "well it was those fake Republicans in the White House that are to blame, and those dum dum Democrats didn't do their due diligence. We TRIED to amend that darn bill but in the end we had to hold our noses and sign on."
Or maybe they want to force the Dems to pass this over their objections. Think about it. Everybody hates the bailout, but everybody realizes WaMu just went under too. Everybody else will sign on, as Paulson has been amended. But the thing is, NOBODY actually supports the bailout. The Republicans get to say "we hate it most! We hate it most!" And wouldn't they REALLY love it, if this were passed "over their objections"?
LOL, FBN... my money says the debate will go on, just like the rest of John "Country First" McSame's little show. The only question is whether the American people see through it.

Regardless, McSame's going to Mississippi.

Ok then PfnV...you're on! I think the pubs are pissed off at McCain and genuinely feel this is a bad deal...at least a significant group of them.
On my part this has one of those "I work in washington and you can SEE the government from my HOUSE!" flavors to it. People say stuff. Sometimes they say stuff and attribute it to an inside guy. So I'm hearing people say stuff... nothing classified or sensitive, relax, I am talking about campaign stuff.
Well, "stuff" can be a wheels-within-wheels rumor campaign too, so I'm only so impressed w.the quality of my own prediction.
But I do think this one has a decent chance of accuracy.
