Default Is "bubba" considered the equivalent to "nigga" in this forum?

Apparently according to Patters the "moderator" who implies two things by the following

Quote:
We don't reveal who gets infractions, but are we aware of that post and the one that preceded it, yes.

That use of "bubba", will get one an infraction, even though said use by a Senator garnered no widespread negative reaction and

That it's okay to say "nigga" if another poster says "bubba".

Please clarify Patters - it's difficult to keep abreast of all the changing rules in this forum even when one has the guideline "whatever upsets a rightwinger will not be tolerated" to use for guidance.

This comment was made in a thread infected with rightwingers and not one of them called the poster to task. This includes the incompetent racism detecting sleuth FBN
next time you need to make a point .. leave me out of it.
Your use of my name to prove a point in a post I had nothing to do with is over the line.

"Bubba" is a term that has been used in this forum for a long time.
Mostly by NEM who is no longer here.
A "Bubba" is a southern redneck ... who are quite proud of being rednecks.

As for the other term ... it has no business being used anywhere.

but I am not the mod ... so who cares that you are crying like a child right now?

Dictionary: bubba

n. Slang.
  1. Chiefly Southern U.S. Brother.
  2. A white working-class man of the southern United States, stereotypically regarded as uneducated and gregarious with his peers.

MORE USES OF BUBBA

Quote:
Because of its association with the southern part of the United States, bubba is often used outside the South as a pejorative meaning low economic status and limited education. The term "bubba" may also be taken to mean one who is a "good ol' boy" who has difficult business and social relationships due to his self-absorbed outlook on life. It is also used pejoratively in prison sex jokes, where Bubba is a stereotyped homosexual male who rapes his fellow inmates, usually when they "drop the soap".
Well mods ... is "Bubba" an approved word or an infraction word.

let's have a trial with the word. It's a rather rude word but what will we do now have an approved list of words we can use and words we can't ... Is the forum the Republic of China?

Hey ... even in real life everyone needs to take a *****.
It's only when we soil ourselves that it becomes a real problem.

If someone is offended by bubba, then it's offensive, of course. Is it a term that warrants an infraction, I don't think so. Does 'nigga' warrant an infraction. Yes. Does everything that warrants an infraction get one? No. Why? Because sometimes people get rude, and it doesn't seem like the one who is being provoked should be the only one penalized. If I keep calling McCain a senile old slob, and finally a rightie calls me a name, I sort of had it coming. Sometimes I don't spend the time figuring out the exact evolution of the insulting posts, so it's best to see if people calm down. I don't think it's the job of the moderator to feed the divisions that are already in this forum. Moderation requires, well, a degree of moderation.
