I'm watching it ... i always watch them ... what an interesting phenomena ... watching a hurricane. I remember around 20 years ago where they would leave cameras and hoped they worked. Now ... the reporters are right there on the ground reporting the hurricane.
Hopefully there is no loss of life but I fear there will be.
One more thing ... How come the news networks don't show free commercials for relief organizations? just wondering?

I have kin in NOLA, truly a great city, they evacuated to Hattiesberg.. so we have a vested interest in what happens... we have been watching it intensely, except cannot watch it on the TV.. the yak, yak..look at me is infuriating..

They have a competent Governor now. Future President too.
That in a nutshell is the biggest difference between this hurricane and Katrina. I spent 15 days in Mississippi after Katrina and Governor Barbour made sure that everything ran smoothly. His crisis management and leadership took the state through a truly horrendous situation. What many people failed to realize that the storm hit MS directly and utterly destroyed the entire coast. The reason you didn't see it on TV as much is because they were too busy rebuilding to whine. That's exactly the leadership Jindal showed this time. If he were 5 years older, I believe he'd have been the VP nominee.
