"Different" is an interesting categorization, the Oscar's have been around since 1929, so not sure how that standard this is applies..

Something that has been going on for 84 years is hardly different..

Eh, I'm sure many people would say the same thing about the Super Bowl. And, much like the Super Bowl, yes the Oscars are overblown. But they're still the most prestigious awards of the movie industry.
