You want prophetic, I got your prophetic
Poets' Corner - William Blake - Selected Works
You want the second poem down, Auguries of Innocence.
I'm not going to spoil these couplets & the brilliant wrap-up at the end by quoting at length, but just for a taste...
Quote:
A dog starv'd at his Master's Gate
Predicts the ruin of the State.

Many faces of a similar theme here, many of them better-turned, but I figured I'd trot out one we'd all recognize from the back-and-forth here.
(Of course, the first poem here, "Jerusalem" may be a personal favorite, if you grew up with it in hymn-form in church, or if you like the Emerson, Lake, and Palmer version.)
Enjoy all!
