I don't know if they're right or they're wrong, but I do know they've done their homework and, as such, have the right to be heard and considered.
At the very least, armed officers in schools shouldn't be an all or nothing solution. Each individual school should have several options available to them.

The NAACP seems to be using police that are in certain schools as a measuring stick for more police in schools. But, the police that are already in those schools are there to protect the students from the other students. Whether it be guns, knives or beatings.
Personally, I think that if the kids in those "urban" schools do not want to feel like they are in prison, then they should stop acting like criminals. I would guess that the students that are their to learn and not deal drugs and participate in gang recruiting like have the police there. Just a guess of course.
P.S. I agree it should not be an all or nothing deal, let the schools and their individual situations be the guiding factor.
