The fact that the Steelers can be an 11-5 team with or without their starting QB doesn't make them better or more versatile than the Pats, who can rip off a solid 14-2 with Brady and (with this year's talent) probably 10-6 without him.
You are correct, the Pats aren't an elite team without Brady. Pittsburgh, however, isn't an elite team period, with or without Big Ben.

Besides, the last time I checked, the Steelers were the last team before the Colts to hoist the Lombardi not the Pats.
Is that what you really want to hang your hat on? That you won one Super Bowl at some point in the last decade? If that's what it takes to keep you from continuing to pretend that it's the '70s, then I'll take it, but damn, that's still pretty lame.
