I wouldn't be at all surprised if the 49ers, the newly anointed "best team in the NFL", lose to Seattle next week. They'll have a hard time finding the same energy that they found against the Pats, and 1 more win gives them the NFC West, so they pretty much have the division locked up.
I think a Pats/Seahawks SB is as likely as a Broncos/49ers SB at this point. Both are realistic possibilities, nothing more. 4 good teams. And at least 3 more who could have a reasonable shot at making the game (Houston, Green Bay and Atlanta, probably in that order). I think anyone else is a real long shot at this point, though stranger things have happened.
I think Seattle is going to win their matchup against SF this week. I do disagree about the Seahawks in the Super Bowl, though, because they are a bad road team (see losses at ARI, STL, SF, DET, MIA).

2007 SB Champs New York Giants-Week 17 Loss to New England 38-35.
Remember how gigantic that 2007 regular season win seemed moments after it was over? Oh, records this, records that, the best all time this, the best all time that, feelings of invincibility, ****iness, no problems, no sweat, just mail us the trophy, etc.
Remember how pathetic all that seemed a few minutes after the SB loss?
Let SF think they are invincible. The world is full of people who temporarily think they are invincible.

Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com agrees about the above listed 7 teams have separated themselves from the pack, and the overwhelmign likelhood that the SB teams will come form among those 7:

I do have some perspectivie, but i stand by what i said earlier this season - without a good and consistent Defense our chances of winning the SB are extremley low. not recovering even one of 6 fumbles (much like the SB last year when we had 2 chances of picking up the ball and one to pick eli in our end-zone) is just a testimonium paupertatis for this team as a whole.
but i hope good days are ahed of us. i pray for that.
