Default Brandon Lloyd

I think Lloyd has finally earned the trust of brady after tonight...played great and was a good thing to see from this **** fest we saw tonight. Only 1 of the few positives tonight

(mods please don't merge this should have it's own thread)

Lloyd was excellent tonight. Those sideline catches were remarkable.

Don't think there is a receiver in football that works the sideline better. He doesn't usually get good separation on the sideline but he positions himself perfectly to bring down the ball in bounds. He isn't a deep ball threat but he showed tonight that he's a threat on the outside.

I think tonight is the turning point. Where we will see him play a bigger role and he also showed he can take the top off of the D

I am not sure I agree that he 'finally gained bradys trust'. He has had it all season, but this will always be a gameplan team that will try and take advantage of one-on-one coverage.

He is basically a slightly taller, slightly more athletic version of the Branch we traded for 2 years ago.

He had 190 yards, plus a 38 yard PI, and a 22 yard TD called back. Hard to argue with that. That's the fifth most receiving yards in a game in Patriot history.

Lloyd needed to step up when the defense was focusing on Welker, and he definitely did. He is a beast and never stops giving effort on a play. He gives this offense another dimension that they didn't have for the last 2 seasons.

Lloyd is the best thing to happen to gronk and welker.

Double teaming the patriot receivers will be difficult without freeing one of them

I know people wanted him to be a deep threat (he is getting some plays there now), but he is really helping to free up the center of the field by drawing coverage to the outside.

I have always said a deep threat is overrated and an outside receiver is far more necessary. Lloyd is that guy.

Now if Welker and Hernandez could actually catch all the balls coming their way, Lloyd's impact would be even more successful. But Welker and Lloyd drew a lot of one on one coverages because Lloyd demanded attention. Gronk should be able to take advantage of that.
